Client: Mr Declan Walsh Objective: In building his dream home Mr Walsh wished to achieve as a minimum the revised Part L Building Regulations relating to energy efficiency, thermal insulation and airtightness. Solution: Mr Walsh recognised the benefits of BioBased 501s and was confident that the open cell foam insulation which was sprayed into the walls and the roof structure was the only insulation product that could achieve all his requirements. The 140mm walls of this timber frame house were fully sprayed with BioBased 501s and cut back flush for the lining OSB sheet which Mr Walsh inserted for additional structural benefits before the plasterboard was fixed on the finished layer. The tricky shape of the dormer style roof was easily insulated with the BioBased 501s spray in place product. In the walls or ceilings of a building, many conventional insulations suffer a reduction in performance of as much as 50% due mainly to air leakage and settlement. In practice the thermal values of BioBased are reflective of those achieved during laboratory testing. Unlike conventional insulation BioBased Insulation will not settle or sag over time. This means you will enjoy all the benefits of energy-efficiency and healthier air for as long as you own your home or building as BioBased Insulation comes with a lifetime Limited Warranty. |
