ARCHITECTS
BioBased
Spray Foam Insulation leads the building performance revolution.
As
an architect, you are constantly searching for products that
increase design flexibility and minimize building liabilities.
Products from BioBased Foam Insulation can help you address
those challenges.
BioBased Spray Insulation is working towards increasing the
sustainability of spray foam insulation. One way we do that
is by replacing a portion of the petroleum content with bio-based
content. Our bio-based products contain 3-16% bio-content
in the finished foam based on third-party testing. We also
work to incorporate alternative ingredients in our products
to make them more sustainable, such as using water as a blowing
agent. Last of all we seek third-party certifications to verify
the impact of our spray insulation products.
Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation
BioBased 501w spray foam is a semi-rigid, open celled air
barrier that is spray applied using water as the blowing agent.
It performs well in a variety of applications, has low VOCs
in the finished foam and no CFCs or HCFCs. It has a density
of 8kg (0.5 lb), and thermal conductivity of 0.038 w/mk. BioBased
501w spray foam insulation was voted "Outstanding Green
Product of the Year 2003" at NAHB's National Green Building
Conference.
BioBased 501s spray foam is our second-generation open celled
air barrier with a 8kg (0.5 lb) density. It also is spray
applied using water as the blowing agent. It has low VOCs
in the finished foam and no CFCs or HCFCs. It has a thermal
conductivity value of 0.038 w/mk and incorporates Agrol®,
our bio-based polyol.
Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation
BioBased 1701s spray foam is a closed cell, air barrier that
is spray applied using water as the blowing agent. It has
no CFCs or HCFCs. It has a density of 27kg (1.7 lbs) and a
thermal conductivity of 0.026 w/mk. It incorporates Agrol®
bio-based polyol.
Closed Cell Sealants
BioBased Spray Foam Insulation also offers two closed cell
sealants that can be used in a variety of industrial and agricultural
applications including sealing livestock houses; soil and
rock stabilization; pipeline trench breaker; pad, pillow and
poly backfill; crack and joint sealing and post and pole setting.
These products are available in 48 kg (3 lb) and 96kg (6 lb)
formulations.

BioBased Insulation is committed to delivering the product
evaluation, testing and engineering necessary to satisfy the
most discriminating Architect or Engineer. Irish climate conditions
require system design approaches that address such climate
challenges. Non-vented roof system design, thermal performance
comparisons, vapour barrier elimination and fire issues are
successful building design paths unique to the new generation
of microcellular, semi-open celled, air barrier insulation
systems.
