BioBased® Insulation 1701s

BioBased® 1701s Insulation is a 27.3kg soy oil-based spray foam polyurethane closed cell insulation formulated with water as the sole blowing agent.

BioBased® 1701s Insulation is a rigid insulation and when installed acts as an air barrier and a vapour barrier. BioBased® 1701s Insulation features two breakthrough technological advancements with the integration of soybean oils to replace existing petroleum oils and the inclusion of recycled content in its formula.

BioBased® 1701s Insulation can be used in a broad range of applications including:  the insulation of internal block walls, foundations, on the underside of roof vapour barriers such as bitumen felt of new and existing residential and commercial & agricultural buildings; exterior and interior roof insulating and weatherproofing for steel structures; and the insulation of refrigeration trucks, store rooms, and industrial tanks.

BioBased® 1701s provides excellent thermal performance and is effective in reducing the u-value of the building. For the purpose of u-value calculation the thermal conductivity of the product may be taken as 0.026W/mK

When sprayed to the inside of a building BioBased® 1701s bonds the structure together and enhances the structural integrity.

When using BioBased® 1701s in conjunction with roof or wall timbers it is recommended that not more than 50% of the timber is covered and consideration of other vapour barriers should be taken into account when calculating this coverage.

BioBased® 1701s can be considered a well sealed system in line with BS5250:2002 and we recommend that fresh air be introduced into the building by means of Passive or mechanical ventilation systems.
